Host a Class
Contact us today to Host a Barnquilt Painting class in your area! Traveling to North Dakota, South Dakota and Eastern Montana!
Classes offered:
2’ x 2’ = $75.00
4’ x 4’ = $150.00 (to take a 4’ class the participant will need to have taken a 2’ class from me)
1’ x 18” (door size) = $50

I provide all materials, paint and tools to start and finish your barn quilt. Each person will leave with a completed project ready to hang.

-
Class size is limited to 20 people unless I can find an experienced helper to assist me. Minimum class size depends on travel costs and can be negotiated.
-
Class start time should be 9 or 10 am. Depending on the pattern chosen, everyone should be done by 4 pm. In my class, I do my best to make sure people leave with a finished project – provided they choose one of my patterns.
-
It takes me about 1.5 hours to set up, provided the tables (and chairs) are ready.
-
The size of the room needs to accommodate around 15 tables (with room for painters to move around). I find that 8’ tables work best, but 6’ will work.
-
Each table will need access to electricity. There will be one blow dryer (hair dryer) at each station. If multiple tables are using their dryer, we tend to blow breakers. It is necessary to have breakers on different circuits in the room. The electricity/breakers tend to be the biggest issues while hosting a class.
-
I do ask for a hostess.
-
Lunch – the hostess makes lunch arrangements -- SIMPLE lunch.
-
Pizza, sandwich bar, walking taco, bars or sweets – and water/coffee. I will offer $5 per person to offset hostess cost if requested. You could ask for a freewill donation to cover costs.
-
It can be pot luck.
-
You could ask a Pampered Chef or Tastefully Simple distributor to do a product showcase.
-
One lady who is a hostess offers a lunch for purchase with proceeds going towards their city walking trail.
-
It can be a Bring your own lunch 😊
-
Often a local quilt shop will offer to sponsor the lunch.

Once the details (date, time, place, hostess contact info) I will create a flyer and post the class on my Barnquilt Facebook page, as well as other BQ groups I am a part of.
